Writing More - E-Mailing Less

Every feel like you get too much e-mail?

Today I left 1/2 of the newsletters/groups I get in e-mail because I blog more these days. Speaking of blogs...

I noticed troubles on a couple blogs over last 24 hours. Comments missing. Posts erased. Those pics in the template on the NCP author blog didn't work and I had to repeat that 3 times. Beggars can't be chosers.

Comments

  1. Blogger seemed to have comment problems yesterday - about half the blogs I tried to comment on gave me "Cannot connect at this time" errors.
And now of course I have no idea what I was going to say. Well, given the state I wa in yesterday, probably nothing great was lost. Guess I'll just have to start over today with fresh and original comments!

  2. Hey just checking you out before I start writing a little today. Yeah I had like five comments on my email from people who tried to comment on my latest entry on my blog...hmmmm.

You know me Angie. I'm more of a blogger than 'grouper' lol! did you get my email about adding your link to my blog? I am so behind on doing stuff like that. I only have three blogs listed on my side bar. Not that I don't visit them, it just that my webdiva updates my site and blog links for me and I keep forgetting to have her add them. But I sent yours this am to her before I went to mass

anyhoos...love the cover of relic btw

  4. Hi Annalee!
I posted on this at your LJ,
    but I'll answer and say,
Nope. I'm not flooded. Sounds like maybe that's good.
AND, Thanks for answering the link request on Myspace. I noticed it AFTER I wrote to you on LJ.

I've read quite a few authors cutting back on blogging/emails in favor of writing. Sometimes it seems blogging can take on a life of its own, from creating the post to answering comments.

You do what works for you. Writing makes sense. More so because I'm looking forward to more books from you. Any plans for more along the lines of Never a Sunset??
I'm such a sucker for vamps. *wink*
    Have a great Sunday, Annalee!

  5. Karen - hope you're having a nice weekend. Superbowl starts soon. I'll probably check out some of it. I'm not the biggest football fan but I will be rooting for the Seahawks. I should blog about why today. Give me something to say. :)

Kimberly - I started bloggin' before groupin'. My LJ account is over 2 years old. I'm more blog oriented too ... as a reader. In 2004 the bulk of my purchases were thanks to hearing about books on blogs. In 2005 I read too little because I try to do too much, at least in part. Speaking of e-mail, I better go check it though.

Lauren -- (FYI to anyone who is reading this other than Lauren, met met her pre-publication for both of us via LJ). So far I've only read Triad. Now that I have less e-mail to read, I can catch up on reading books and writing too. I saw you've got the 3rd done now... that's third book in the series Triad starts? Well, either way, I need to catch up! :)

Angelle... I read too many though. Like this one lady I saw on TV the other night with her cell phones. She's got two going all the time and takes calls at night. Actually, I really do skip too many and that's why I'm finally paring down. It is a struggle to learn balance for me.

Michele brings up a good point... I posted similiar topics on both my blogs! I'm a duplicator too. LOL. Re: vamps... Thanks. :) I have the idea started, but I haven't worked on that one for a month. Too much e-mail. Well, not really! I have another deadline first.

  6. I can usually cope with a lot of email traffic because I just scan it for the most part and rarely respond. I guess I'm mostly a lurker.

But I did put myself on daily digest for the groups that I'm debating leaving, especially the crafting groups of various types, to see if I actually go to the trouble of reading the digests. If I don't, I'll unsubscribe.

Blogging is very new to me but I'm enjoying it!

  7. Sigh - I think it was me. I go to post and EVERYTHING goes wrong!

  8. I goof up plenty on posts thanks to things like mistyping word verification code, but yesterday it wasn't us... there were gremlins at work for sure. LOL.

My Favorite Things

Thirteen of My Favorite Things Raindrops on roses, and whiskers on kittens.... I love watching and singing along to a great musical. When I was a kid I used to run about singing like life was a musical. People would ask me what I was singing, but I was just making it up as I went. And I love dancing. I talked my mother into letting me take ballet lessons for a little while. But I wasn’t graceful and my ballet teacher didn’t have very liberal thoughts on teaching children. If you sucked, she let you know. But, she couldn’t ever accuse me of not enjoying dancing. All my favorite songs are either on soundtracks, or are great story like “Desperado” by the Eagles. Listing thirteen favorites might be the subject of another Thursday Thirteen. Some of the movie songs I’ve listened to while typing today: Da Funk by Daft Punk on The Saint soundtrack and #1 Crush by Mundy on the Romeo & Juliet soundtrack. Writing. I can get lost in writing. I love creating stories and characters. Apparently e
