This weekend The Great Reno Balloon Race, one of the largest balloon rallies in the United States, was taking place. Unfortunately for me, I have to be at work earlier than normal on Saturdays as part of my regular schedule and since I've had that schedule I miss the best part.
This year, same as last year, I had the best of intentions of taking a nap Friday night and waking up at 3:00 so that I could stop by the dawn patrol ... and then go to work.
But, no.
I couldn't get myself out of bed. I clocked in at 7:59 even without the dawn patrol drive by.
This morning at 5:00 AM they had the same event where they fire up the special shaped balloons like the Energizer Bunny made up as the Hot Hare Balloon and make them glow.
I didn't get up for that either.
But here are some pics and a movie from another year when this early bird culd find worms....
