Want to Make Progress in Your Language? Be Realistic

"When I look at what I have achieved, not what I would like to have achieved, I am satisfied and feel energized."

This video describes by progress with the Russian language. I've learned far more faster using LingQ and YouTube to learn Russian than I learned years ago when I studied Spanish in a more traditional classroom setting. I wish I understood more, so I get frustrated.

So, I need to remind myself how far I've really come. Even though I've studied Russian for nearly two years, I wasn't quite as serious the first year. Even now I don't necessarily work at learning the language every day. The other day I was tired so all I did was watch a show on YouTube.
