Yesterday I was driving through Verdi, NV so I could take Dog Valley Road and wander around in the mountains (the Sierra Nevadas in California) and take pictures of the golden aspen. This maple tree caught my eye though. I liked the varied colors and the way the sun streaming through the leaves emphasized them. This one is planted at the Volunteer Fire Department in Verdi.

That Dog Valley area is great. Have you taken Dog Valley Rd through to Bordertown? I drove one of my other favorite areas today, CA Hwys 4 and 89 (monitor pass); not much for fall colors now but had a beautiful view of the storm coming in.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's what I did. That was my first time. Maybe next summer I'll head over toward Boca and Stampede. It's pretty up there.
