Tossed the wrapper out his open window.
I bought it up at work at lunch and this guy on my shift said, "What's wrong with that? I litter all the time."
"Why?"
"Prisoners need something to clean up."
I still think I need a different foible for the hero of my next story. Littering just isn't sexy enough.

Oh, what a downer. I hate litering and it so ruins the mystique of the perfect hero.

ReplyDeleteI caught one of our (male) employees doing it once after a breakfast meeting and demanded he pick it up, right now.
Seeing as I'm a good 20 or so years younger than him, AND I did it in front of our boss with a 'don't mess with me' attitude...well, it got picked up.
Besides, around here, the people who have trash duty are those who are caught litering, have community service, etc.
Oh, bummer. Isn't it awful when you start to fantasize and something like that ruins it?

ReplyDeleteYou had to know he was too good to be true. I think it is more of a guy thing and really irks me. Like it's that difficult to hold on to your garbage until you get somewhere you can throwe it away. And then there are the people who will be two feet from a trash can and still toss their junk on the ground. Totally annoying!
