Happy New Year

Looking back at YouTube over 2007....

Yahoo posted on their front page that "You may be the last person online who hasn't seen this prairie dog's acting skills." I may not be the last, but I hadn't seen the clips yet. About every copy of the clip has had millions of hits, and many of goofy copies have had hundreds of thousands. (The video is 5 seconds long.)

I am amused at the popularity of videos like that because I keep hearing about how wonderful the YouTube community is for promoting intelligent discussion among young people.

And speaking of intelligent discussion among the youth on the Internet ... if the response videos to Miss South Carolina 2007's public-speaker-nightmare-come-true goof showcase some of the best and the brightest young people in America, I'm moving to Argentina when I retire.

It turned out for the best because since the previews were nearly over for HP, we didn't have enough time to spend another $12 on pop corn and pops! They didn't mind until about half-way into the movie when some sucker gave into demands for candy and pop corn from their children and took off for the snack bar. I heard this, "can we have popcorn?" from the general direction of Griffin. I figured I need to train him young that going to the snack bar in the middle of the movie is a waste of time and money. How to pronounce Initial Ng in Asian Languages - Stuart Jay Raj Next to getting the tones right, the initial 'Ng' sound that is found in so many Asian languages proves to be one of the major pronunciation issues for non-Asian learners of 'initial ng' languages.
