Self Evaluation

Self Evaluation, originally uploaded by locnar89.

A lady that I know had a job interview recently where at the end, she was given a page with a list of attributes that employers are looking for in an employer. Then they asked her to write a self-evaluation of how she thought she did during the interview based on that list of attributes.

That sounds stupid. Not just a little stupid, but a lot stupid. So much so that it would be a deal breaker for me and I'd pull my application. If what a company wants is an employee that would sit around trying to fit some ideal, then I'm not a person that should be working there. I've never been one of those kind butt kissers. I'm the kind of person that would want to work for an employer that would want independent thinkers.

Maybe, if this ever happened to me, I could write down on their little exercise, "If you are looking for someone willing to be independent enough from the team to tell you how stupid this exercise is, I'm the perfect employee for you."
