I finished reading Lori Handeland's Any Given Doomsday last night. I can only recall having read a novella by Handeland in the past ... which I'd enjoyed. So when I saw the three books in the Phoenix Chronicles up at Borders, I used one of my holiday gift cards and bought them. If you checked the reviews at Amazon you'd note that some people were disappointed (spoiler) that the heroine had sex with two men. Maybe this upset them because you can buy the book in the romance section of a bookstore? But, with respect to this book the spine isn't labelled "paranormal romance". The spine says "novel". In romance, the heroine is typically bound to one man. But, the rules are different for fiction. To me it should be obvious that this novel isn't a "paranormal romance" novel because it is part of a series.
