My Web site has had a black background for about a year and a half. It is about time for something different. This weekend I'll figure out a new header and change the actual HTML in the web pages. I can't right now because I'm up way too late considering I have to leave for work in less than six hours. But, I got to fiddling with colors and the next thing I know... 1:30!

Here's a little game I found in my blog from over a year ago while I was deleting old posts. I don't know why I'm always feeling like I need to delete. It's not as if Google will run out of room on their computers for my puny contributions to the WWW. 1. Take five books off your bookshelf. 2. Book #1 -- first sentence 3. On the writing front... caught this over the weekend thanks to Ellen and Tracy, two authors that have stories in Relic. Relic is a set of four short stories, with each individual tale having its own flavor and powerful relic. I really enjoyed this group of tales, and felt that they were very well-matched. I finally finished Your Planet or Mine? by Susan Grant. It is a tear jerker. It is incredibly funny. It takes place in a town I have been too, so I liked that too. I saw on Susan Grant's blog that Jana’s brother’s book comes out in March. I was kind of hoping the REEF would get a second chance like “Terminator” and rework the bad boy thing he had going. I really like stories like that, where even the protagonist wasn’t multi-dimensional. Or at least that is what I read into the character. It isn’t just that I’m fun writing about cyborgs that got me interested in that character, it quite possibly could be because this was a great book. Actually it took me a long, long time to read that book because I wrote far more than I read this past month. Speaking of bad guys… There have been tons of power outages over the last month or so. The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility. As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5-year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English." In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c" . Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter. There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the ekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter. In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will enkourage the re
