Casablanca 70 Years Old

I watched Casablanca yesterday and was reminded it was the Best Picture in 1942. The movie is turning 70 years old then. Movies might make more money these days, but I think it'll be awhile before Hollywood comes up with a movie that appeals to so many people for so long. Description from Wikipedia: "Casablanca is a 1942 American romantic drama film directed by Michael Curtiz, starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman and Paul Henreid, and featuring Claude Rains, Conrad Veidt, Sydney Greenstreet, Peter Lorre and Dooley Wilson. Set during World War II, it focuses on a man torn between, in the words of one character, love and virtue. He must choose between his love for a woman and helping her Czech Resistance leader husband escape from the Vichy-controlled Moroccan city of Casablanca to continue his fight against the Nazis."

Zazzle is so good

What a nice video! A young shopper that loves her dogs talking about a photo clock she made at Zazzle. If you'd like some numbers for your personalized photo clocks , I have a growing number of options in my online shop at Zazzle.

Earning Money Online with Zazzle Referrals

Today I saw one of the less common, but regular enough, referral sales go to some nameless person out there on the Internet that had been promoting my products (or stickers in general and the customer picked out mine). Someone bought 120 sticker packs from one of my stores. The sale was just shy of $500, so someone earned over $50 for leaving a link somewhere that lead to Zazzle. Do Something Poster

A motivational poster that was picked for Today's Best at Zazzle today. Designer said: "This is a realization I had while sitting in a cubicle at my tedious job and feeling like something needed to happen. I've personally got this one on my wall." I know a lady that has been unemployed for several years. She ran out of extended unemployment benefits long ago and is living off her retirement I suppose. It would be impolite to ask. She has told me she wants to start her own business ... someday ... after she has a job. She says that she doesn't want to have to rely on working for people or government. It would also be impolite to remind her that somehow she allowed herself to rely on other people to create her future and I don't see how that kind of independence will ever happen in her life. If being unemployed for two years wasn't enough to kick start the entrepreneur within, that entrepreneur probably isn't within. Here is a perfect sign for the

Spam Tags are Useless

I was wandering about the Zazzle marketplace today and saw some products where the designer used every holiday in the tags of their newest products even when there was an obvious mismatch in design and holiday, and despite the bright yellow box on the publish page that reads "Zazzle now follows a strict no-spam policy as reflected in our updated User Agreement." UPDATED 4/30/2021 Since I wrote this post almost nine years ago, Zazzle has done a fairly good job of cleaning out the users that habitually spammed their marketplace with useless tags. If you're going to start a store in their marketplace, make sure to read through their tagging and spams tips and policies. These days it's much easier to find people that make honest tagging mistakes. I was thinking of writing a little tip book for Amazon KDP.
