What People Say in Court

A list of the stupid things people have said in actual court transcripts... For example: Q: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse? A: No. Q: Did you check for blood pressure? A: No. Q: Did you check for breathing? A: No. Q: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy? A: No. Q: How can you be so sure, Doctor? A: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar. Q: But could the patient have still been alive nevertheless? A: It is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law somewhere.

My Computer Desk

This is my 400th post (currently). Actually, I have a habit of erasing old posts. Thirteen Items on the Desk michael buble Call Me Irresponsible cd - I'm importing that into iTunes as I type. He's going to be here in Reno in a month or so. I plan to go. I'm pretty new to being a Michael Buble fan. I actually read it quite some time ago. It hasn't made it back to the bookshelves yet. I just bought James Taylor's Greatest Hits on CD too, and now I can import that into iTunes. The New Computer

There is now a new computer for the children's game room* and the screen is 1440 x 900 resolution. This is nothing new for some people, but it is for me. I have to decorate it now. http://www.nczoo.org/freestuff/wallpaper.cfm http://www.coldforged.org/archives/category/wallpapers/ * Jump Start on 2nd Grade wouldn't work on the old computer. It was time to get a new computer as the old one was so old it had Windows ME originally (though it had been upgraded at least once). It just didn't have enough front end to run that program. Speaking of the new format, let me just say that my website and blog look mighty bare! They are centered with about a quarter of the screen on either side empty. Suppose this is the first computer I've used that is truly designed for multitasking.

What Comes After Terabyte?

I got one of those little 2 GB cruiser doohickies from Sansdisk to back up the other computer, and in the paper noticed that there was a 500 GB external hard drive on sale for a fairly low price. How far will we have to go? I know that computers will need massive storage capability to do some of the things I say they can do in Starlit Destiny. But how much do we need for practical purposes? Probably about 2 GB for non-Poser users. 1 TB? Not yet for me. That is approximately 240,000 songs. I like to listen to songs over and over again so I can enjoy them. I don't see myself having an extra 20 years to sing along to each song a handful of times before I die. 2 TB? I suppose, for the low price of $704.99 I back up all my DVDs? LaCie 2 TB Bigger Disk Extreme External Hard Drive with Triple Interface ( 300801U ) List Price: $1,899.99 Price: $704.99 You Save: $1,195.00 (63%)
