Any of you out there crafters? I have various projects that I've tried over the years, but I've never gone so far as to have a booth at a craft bazaar. More than that I just love to go shopping and browse at bazaars. I never seen to have the time anymore though. (If I spent my weekend at bazaars I wouldn't get to Nano.)
I'm in luck! I found Etsy by happenstance, when I found these sushi soaps. If you're into crafs, the fee structure for selling seems reasonable to me. This just might be my next project. (After Nano, of course.)
Speaking of sushi. I should go buy a platter of sushi at the casino tonight when I go watch The Platters in concert. That is actually trip number two. Today I have two trips away from the computer planned, but tomorrow will be good for writing.
My first trip is to head over to the library across town to pick up a research book I need to read during the week when I can't write. I used to own this book, but gave it to my local library in Alaska when I left. Thank goodness my local library has a copy so I don't have to buy a second copy. I read it already, but just want a refresher. The Nano story I'm working on has both shamans and kushtakas planned so I might as well remind myself of the mythology I'm going to bend to my whims. LOL.
Every time I hear about you casually going to a casino for the evening I'm so jealous. You must love living there!
ReplyDeleteSushi soap?! That sounds...fishy. *lol* Oh, I do book thongs and earrings. That's as far as my talent goes. *lol*
ReplyDeleteI love bazaars.....sushi soap...hmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteWow... you just introduced me to a bunch of new terms. lol Sushi soap? Most certainly never heard of it. But now, I'm curious.
ReplyDeleteAnd craft bazaars? I totally didn't know they had those!
You're gonna have to tell me a bit about all these cool things.
I wish I was more crafty, I love the stuff but can't make them!
ReplyDeleteHope you had fun at the concert! If I had an crafting talent I would be making stuff all the time. But I don't.
ReplyDeleteI write instead. LOL
Oh, I LOVE Sushi. Had some for lunch!! But sushi soap???
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the concert! My other thing I love to create with is knitting - I dont' seem to do to well at the crafty things - my kids projects always turn out better than mine! ;)
ReplyDeleteCole
Anyone out here a crafter? Umm...guilty. Very guilty.
ReplyDeleteI'm primarily into counted cross-stitch and making my own greeting cards (there are some on my blog). I am a Stampin' Up addict and blame my afinity for rubber ink stamps on them. I also like to scarpbook but am waaaay behind in that. There are too many things vying for my attention!
m. green~ Tis the season for craft fairs and bazaars! Our paper has a special section just for them in the Sunday paper and Thursday entertainment guide.
Adrienne,
ReplyDeleteThe other night was so cool! I love the old songs from the Platters and this new version of the group is very talented. The room was so full they brought in stadium bleachers. It's nice to see that there are so many people of so many ages that still love old songs. Or should I say... still love the old love songs. LOL. Just a positive night, and it was a nice evening.
Tempest, I used to wear earrings a lot, so I tried some bead for awhile. Did you go see that soap? It's cute! LOL.
ReplyDeleteLeann, I think crafts "bazaar" as a term was more common in Alaska? Am I right? Hmm...
ReplyDeleteMonique, I suppose down here in Nevada they call them "art & craft fairs" but my brain never switched gears. But since I've moved I've bought a small handful of knick knacks like a pet rock. Some kids had a table and it wasn't cheap, but I just wanted to buy from them because they were the only kids at that fair.
Shelli...
ReplyDeleteMostly I do photography/digital art stuff and make prints and greeting cards and stuff like that. I made some Valentines Day cards last year, and sent a handful of blank ones to the publisher. I don't do it all the time. I still have the next batch undone! LOL.
Karen E... I've thought about making cards to sell, but I'd rather write too.
Karen... i love Sushi too. I didn't have any the other night though.
ReplyDeleteCole - Concert was great!
ReplyDeleteHeather... I've got Stampin' stuff. ;)
ReplyDeleteI've only done a few counted cross stitch in my life. But I had fun with those too.
