Stupid Questions

Toni Andrews had a post that got me giggling. Partly because I heard some funny baby-related stupid questions this past few weeks when the twins were visiting with their parents.

My sister-in-law and brother regularly get asked, "Are they twins?"

"No, the baby on the left is the neighbor’s. We have children the same age so we went in together on this double-wide stroller and take turns walking the babies. Today is my day.”

An old friend has a 7-month-old daughter. She went to the K-Mart photo studio and had the cutest little Christmas card made, and told us all that her new little girl is the “light of her life”. Someone else I know read the card and asked me, "She had a baby this year?"

This time, I couldn't help myself, I told that person: "Actually, no, I think she had the neighbor's kid photographed."

  1. That's so funny! LOL

My kids are 13 months apart in age. People always ask them if they are twins. They used to roll their eyes and say no then explain their age difference, (they don't think they resemble each other at all) but finally started saying "yes" because it involved less conversation afterwards. :):)

People can't help but say that kind of stuff. I've caught myself doing it and then I feel like such a dope afterwards...

My daughter and niece are 6 weeks apart - they love to call each other sister. Too bad for them they look so much different that no one ever mistakes them for twins, it would totally make their day >G<

ROFL. That is absolutely hilarious. You're so bad, girl. But I see what you mean. Sometimes, we just don't think. I know I've asked my share of stupid questions in my lifetime.

  7. I admit it, I'm really good at asking questions like this too. Babies are so cute. They are designed to capture our interest. We're compelled to make polite conversation about them.

My Favorite Things

Thirteen of My Favorite Things Raindrops on roses, and whiskers on kittens.... I love watching and singing along to a great musical. When I was a kid I used to run about singing like life was a musical. People would ask me what I was singing, but I was just making it up as I went. And I love dancing. I talked my mother into letting me take ballet lessons for a little while. But I wasn’t graceful and my ballet teacher didn’t have very liberal thoughts on teaching children. If you sucked, she let you know. But, she couldn’t ever accuse me of not enjoying dancing. All my favorite songs are either on soundtracks, or are great story like “Desperado” by the Eagles. Listing thirteen favorites might be the subject of another Thursday Thirteen. Some of the movie songs I’ve listened to while typing today: Da Funk by Daft Punk on The Saint soundtrack and #1 Crush by Mundy on the Romeo & Juliet soundtrack. Writing. I can get lost in writing. I love creating stories and characters. Apparently e
