Rick Derringer of The McCoys, "Rock & Roll, Hootchie Koo"

Lyrics

I couldn't stop moving when it first took hold
It was a warm spring night at the old town hall
There was a group called The Jokers they were laying it down
But you know I'm never gonna lose that funky sound.

Rock and roll hoochie koo
Truck on out and spread the news.

Mosquitoes start buzzing 'bout this time of year
I'm going out back said she'll meet me there
We were rolling in the grass that grows behind the barn
You know my ears started ringing like a fire alarm.

Rock and roll hoochie koo
Lordy mama light my fuse
Rock and roll hoochie koo
Truck on out and spread the news
Yeah somebody say keep on rockin'?

I hope you all know what I'm talkin' about
The way she wiggles that thing it really knocks me out
Getting higher all the time I hope you all are too
C'mon on a little closer gonna do it to you.

Rock and roll hoochie koo
Lordy mama light my fuse
Rock and roll hoochie koo
Truck on out and spread the news
Done got tired of paying dues
Said goodbye to all my blues
Lordy mama, light my fuse.

My Favorite Things

Thirteen of My Favorite Things Raindrops on roses, and whiskers on kittens.... I love watching and singing along to a great musical. When I was a kid I used to run about singing like life was a musical. People would ask me what I was singing, but I was just making it up as I went. And I love dancing. I talked my mother into letting me take ballet lessons for a little while. But I wasn’t graceful and my ballet teacher didn’t have very liberal thoughts on teaching children. If you sucked, she let you know. But, she couldn’t ever accuse me of not enjoying dancing. All my favorite songs are either on soundtracks, or are great story like “Desperado” by the Eagles. Listing thirteen favorites might be the subject of another Thursday Thirteen. Some of the movie songs I’ve listened to while typing today: Da Funk by Daft Punk on The Saint soundtrack and #1 Crush by Mundy on the Romeo & Juliet soundtrack. Writing. I can get lost in writing. I love creating stories and characters. Apparently e
