You Probably Think This Post Is About You

I was wandering through the living room after work this evening when Bill O'Reilly's The Factor was on. He was interviewing some Web site owner. The Website inspired me to play with the lyrics in one of my favorite songs by Carly Simon. Not exactly a parady that would make Wierd Al Yankovic proud, but they'll have to do....
You met me several years before hotenough.org
When I was still quite fit and attractive
Well, you said that we made such a pretty pair
And that you would never leave
But you gave away the things you loved for a better than average dating pool
And one of them was me...

You're so vain
You probably think this post is about you
You're so vain
I'll bet you think this post is about you
Don't you? Don't you?

  1. Parodies are great. I love Weird Al. I saw him in concert once.

It's fun to make a song your own by changing the words. I do it, too. :^)
But mine aren't that good--just silly.

  2. Oh, I loooove "You're so Vain" by Carly Simon. I dedicated it once to an ex-bf. Long story there, but let's just say it fit. *wg*

  3. I had just finished the one of Bianca D'arc's dragon books and the hero is super sexy, but he has a scar that he worried doesn't make him "hotenough".

Then I saw that site mentioned on TV and it really struck me that the hottest men I've run across in real life probably won't get voted in as super hot fit and attractive singles.

My Favorite Things

Thirteen of My Favorite Things Raindrops on roses, and whiskers on kittens.... I love watching and singing along to a great musical. When I was a kid I used to run about singing like life was a musical. People would ask me what I was singing, but I was just making it up as I went. And I love dancing. I talked my mother into letting me take ballet lessons for a little while. But I wasn’t graceful and my ballet teacher didn’t have very liberal thoughts on teaching children. If you sucked, she let you know. But, she couldn’t ever accuse me of not enjoying dancing. All my favorite songs are either on soundtracks, or are great story like “Desperado” by the Eagles. Listing thirteen favorites might be the subject of another Thursday Thirteen. Some of the movie songs I’ve listened to while typing today: Da Funk by Daft Punk on The Saint soundtrack and #1 Crush by Mundy on the Romeo & Juliet soundtrack. Writing. I can get lost in writing. I love creating stories and characters. Apparently e
