Eight More Random Facts About Me Meme

I was recently tagged by meeyauw with the Eight Random Facts About Me meme. I had this one before too (I've Been Tagged) so I worked up a sweat thinking of eight more random facts and finding something on YouTube that goes with them. Sort of.

1. I have a degree in Elementary Education but I've allowed my teaching license to lapse and moved on toward office work. (The first few seconds of this one are relevant. LOL.)

I had education-oriented positions up until my latest job....

2. I'm a debt collector. Not too many people say "wow, isn't that cool" when I tell them. Especially not those people that are themselves getting collection calls. And, since there are more people that are in debt than there are those of us that collect debt....

3. I still haven't had my hair cut since the last time I did this meme, but I was thinking about it because my sister-in-law and brother (the ones married in the chapel picture in this week's Photo Hunters) are coming in a month and I want to look less like a mop. LOL.

4. I'm not really interested in baseball, but I was watching the Giants' games recently so I could see Bonds break the record. Unfortunately, I managed to miss this historical moment.

5. When I was a kid I wanted to grow up and be a rainmaker.

I practiced but I never got anywhere with this dream of mine. My mother pretty much put a stop to the whole idea when she caught a friend and me in an open field dancing around during a thunderstorm. Then again, standing beneath a tree isn't such a good idea either (see the YouTube find below).

6. I am not Magento Girl, but I am a clock breaker. I am one of those people that can't wear wind-up watches. I am stubborn enough to keep buying wind-up clocks and the one I have now stops in the middle of the night most evenings. I suppose I should try placing it on the other side of the room.

7. I have been watching old Disney movies almost all summer. I'm introducing my nephews to the ones I enjoyed. And though I admit that some of them have been pretty goofy in hindsight, each one of them has been much better than the fare on Nickolodeon. My new cause: Stop the mush! (Then again, I'm going to bring him to see Underdog this evening.)

8. I used to ride mopeds and loved it. My neighbors had mopeds and we rode them every chance we got. Of course, they were quite old-fashioned compared to this one in the video.

Tagging: I invite anyone that finds this and wants to participate. I will even edit this post and link back to you if you link here. Just comment and let me know.

My Favorite Things

Thirteen of My Favorite Things Raindrops on roses, and whiskers on kittens.... I love watching and singing along to a great musical. When I was a kid I used to run about singing like life was a musical. People would ask me what I was singing, but I was just making it up as I went. And I love dancing. I talked my mother into letting me take ballet lessons for a little while. But I wasn’t graceful and my ballet teacher didn’t have very liberal thoughts on teaching children. If you sucked, she let you know. But, she couldn’t ever accuse me of not enjoying dancing. All my favorite songs are either on soundtracks, or are great story like “Desperado” by the Eagles. Listing thirteen favorites might be the subject of another Thursday Thirteen. Some of the movie songs I’ve listened to while typing today: Da Funk by Daft Punk on The Saint soundtrack and #1 Crush by Mundy on the Romeo & Juliet soundtrack. Writing. I can get lost in writing. I love creating stories and characters. Apparently e
