So Much Cooler Online

Last week I heard Brad Paisley's Online for the first time. Thanks to Lynda at String Alongs I found the video on YouTube.

This video is posted by the official Brad Paisly YouTube profile and they don't want people to embed. What is up with that?

The video and song are funny, but yet....

Sadly, this video may have been meant to be a humorous. Still it is irritating that our culture as a whole always uses fat people as a warning against on-line dating. Some people probably worry more about talking to a fatty posing as a hottie than running across predators.

One of the creepiest women I've met in a long, long time is one of the "pretty people". She's pretty and thin and a small handful of people at work follow her like a flock. But, she's a real creep. The sheep notice that too. Though, even when she kicks the sheep, give it a week and they're back to following her around again.

She's really not a nice person. She's the mold for being cooler on-line, but she's really someone rational people want to avoid.

  1. Yeah good point about making fun of big people! After all I am over weight! But I did think it was funny that all those old people from Seinfeld were on the video. Aren't any of them working? I do know that Patrick Warburton is working on a cartoon called Venture Brothers on Adult Swim. Check it out if you haven't seen it. It is hilarious and strange.

  2. The only Adult Swim is he futuristic cartoon by the Simpon's creator called Futurama. I could appreciate that humor.

  3. Yeah, Futurama is very popular at my house!

  4. Very true Annalee. It's too bad society can't get past the physical. I think the song is funny, but sadly true. Since he's the 'spoof' master it was only a matter of time before he took on the content.

  5. That's a great video. I saw it the other day and thought it was hilarious. There's a lot of truth in it, too.

  6. Lynda - I don't get control of the TV enough to watch Futurama regularly.

Leann - Since society values beauty, it is just too darn bad that it isn't cool to be Rubenesque. I don't mind pleasantly padded men. I kind of think Jason Alexander is cute.

L.K. - When Yahoo chats were new I chatted with friends that lived in other towns and strayed into chatrooms a few times. Men from halfway around the world would buzz trying to figure out if I had a web cam. It bored me.

I started dating a man I "met" online before. I knew who he was offline, but we never talked to each other until a friend had introduced us online. But we talked about interesting topics.

My Favorite Things

Thirteen of My Favorite Things Raindrops on roses, and whiskers on kittens.... I love watching and singing along to a great musical. When I was a kid I used to run about singing like life was a musical. People would ask me what I was singing, but I was just making it up as I went. And I love dancing. I talked my mother into letting me take ballet lessons for a little while. But I wasn’t graceful and my ballet teacher didn’t have very liberal thoughts on teaching children. If you sucked, she let you know. But, she couldn’t ever accuse me of not enjoying dancing. All my favorite songs are either on soundtracks, or are great story like “Desperado” by the Eagles. Listing thirteen favorites might be the subject of another Thursday Thirteen. Some of the movie songs I’ve listened to while typing today: Da Funk by Daft Punk on The Saint soundtrack and #1 Crush by Mundy on the Romeo & Juliet soundtrack. Writing. I can get lost in writing. I love creating stories and characters. Apparently e
