  1. Hey, Annalee!
    How've you been?
I know I've been absent...long time no blog. I'm trying to get back into it ... at least post a once a week instead of once every six months.
I even helped a friend start a new blog - I provide the brainstorming and inspiration and she does the writing. It's a blog for reviewers - How-To if you will. I've been seeing so many authors being unsatisfied with quality that my friend decided to stop complaining and DO something about it.
Now the big hurdle is having people/reviewers READ it. LOL
    Huge project in that along.

In any event, hope the summer is treating you well. It looks like your blog has turned into an eye-fest of catching and intriguing photo's. I love colorful things and yeah, Ninja Cat does look nightmarish. :-)

Anyway, wanted to say HI, that's I'm still alive and kicking and I'm glad to see you are too.
    :-)

  2. Hi there Michele. Did fairies ring bells in your ears? I was just wondering how you were the other day. My nephews were here so I was limited in time most of the summer for wandering about the WWW. They'd put up with my posting a few items on twitter and my blog and kick me back off the computer. They're all home now.

I have the rights back to my books it has been so long. I keep thinking about self-publishing via Amazon's Kindle. I saw the other day they're so busy selling Kindle right now they can't even keep up with production. I thought ... man, I should have published my stuff already! LOL.

The reason I fell behind with writing started as health issue in immediate family, but then when I when I was ready to get involved again ... lets just say I rethought my goals. I had the choice to focus on my artwork where I'm rewarded for my efforts according to my efforts, or I could refocus on my writing where I wasn't really seeing my efforts rewarded and also felt hindered by stuff like ... bad review sites.

I don't think I'd be a great reviewer. I feel more comfortable saying things like ... Daniel X is a know-it-all brat and a bad influence on young readers. I can see that they are well written, and I can recognize that they're great use of the genre and a money making machine in the publishing world. I can't imagine why they wouldn't have movies in the future. But, I only feel comfortable in saying that Daniel X is a pesky brat because James Patterson could care less what I think. He's a multi-millionaire with a massively popular series and for that matter, no one else would care about my opinion on the subject. However, to be completely honest if it was a small author's baby I was tearing apart ... I wouldn't feel right. LOL.

  3. PS ...

As I bought the latest Daniel X in hard cover for my nephew to read on his plane ride home the clerk noticed a pest whining to his parent with a "Boy, kids these days. He sure thinks he knows everything."

I pointed at the book I was buying ... and said, "The kids they write about these days. This Daniel X is a know-it-all too, and a best selling book. But, gotta buy it anyway as my nephew likes him and I love that he loves reading."

My Favorite Things

Thirteen of My Favorite Things Raindrops on roses, and whiskers on kittens.... I love watching and singing along to a great musical. When I was a kid I used to run about singing like life was a musical. People would ask me what I was singing, but I was just making it up as I went. And I love dancing. I talked my mother into letting me take ballet lessons for a little while. But I wasn’t graceful and my ballet teacher didn’t have very liberal thoughts on teaching children. If you sucked, she let you know. But, she couldn’t ever accuse me of not enjoying dancing. All my favorite songs are either on soundtracks, or are great story like “Desperado” by the Eagles. Listing thirteen favorites might be the subject of another Thursday Thirteen. Some of the movie songs I’ve listened to while typing today: Da Funk by Daft Punk on The Saint soundtrack and #1 Crush by Mundy on the Romeo & Juliet soundtrack. Writing. I can get lost in writing. I love creating stories and characters. Apparently e
