Autobiography of Mark Twain Released

I saw an article regarding this release in the local paper today. Mark Twain spent a few years on the Comstock in Virginia City, Nevada just a short drive into the mountains to the east of Reno. The newspaper article's author pointed out this life-size replica of Twain that sits in the Mark Twain Bookstore up in Virginia city is often mistaken for Albert Einstein.

I don't doubt the article because our schools have been doing such a poor job of educating kids for the last couple decades since we've given up local control and instituted national standards. This month we had the opportunity to elect a veteran teacher that wanted to bring control closer to home and away from those that have mucked it all up for the last few decades. But, Nevada (with the help of teacher's union of all things) re-elected Harry Reid so he'll stay home in DC while here in Nevada we've got 6 more years of keeping our kids too stupid to notice that the the life-size doll of an old man sitting in the Mark Twain Bookstore in Virginia City might actually be a life-size doll of Mark Twain.

My Favorite Things

Thirteen of My Favorite Things Raindrops on roses, and whiskers on kittens.... I love watching and singing along to a great musical. When I was a kid I used to run about singing like life was a musical. People would ask me what I was singing, but I was just making it up as I went. And I love dancing. I talked my mother into letting me take ballet lessons for a little while. But I wasn’t graceful and my ballet teacher didn’t have very liberal thoughts on teaching children. If you sucked, she let you know. But, she couldn’t ever accuse me of not enjoying dancing. All my favorite songs are either on soundtracks, or are great story like “Desperado” by the Eagles. Listing thirteen favorites might be the subject of another Thursday Thirteen. Some of the movie songs I’ve listened to while typing today: Da Funk by Daft Punk on The Saint soundtrack and #1 Crush by Mundy on the Romeo & Juliet soundtrack. Writing. I can get lost in writing. I love creating stories and characters. Apparently e
