The Future is More Content: Jeff Bezos, Robots and High Volume Publishing

I read the The Future is More Content: Jeff Bezos, Robots and High Volume Publishing the other day.

This paragraph stood out...
"We will all need to make smarter use of curators, those people that read widely, that keep up-to-date on specific issues and share articles and views with the rest of us. These people may curate on blogs, content hubs or simply share articles via Twitter. No one can read everything, we will need to rely more than ever on others reading and sharing articles. Teams will have to learn how to effectively leverage their members to curate and filter content."

I never was all that interested in a typical theme blog. There isn't really any one topic that I'm interested in reading or writing about exclusively. I like arts and crafts. I like languages. I live travel. I like photography. And... the list goes on. I don't even enjoy reading blogs about one theme.

When someone invented Pinterest, I was thinking ... that's kind of what I've been doing with my blog. I have been posting anything and everything for a long, long time. I'm curating the Internet in small doses.

If you find something you like among the products I talk about, I hope you support that artist. I do have my own online store that I promote, but it works out that I am a benefactor of other independent artists and small businesses.

My Favorite Things

Thirteen of My Favorite Things Raindrops on roses, and whiskers on kittens.... I love watching and singing along to a great musical. When I was a kid I used to run about singing like life was a musical. People would ask me what I was singing, but I was just making it up as I went. And I love dancing. I talked my mother into letting me take ballet lessons for a little while. But I wasn’t graceful and my ballet teacher didn’t have very liberal thoughts on teaching children. If you sucked, she let you know. But, she couldn’t ever accuse me of not enjoying dancing. All my favorite songs are either on soundtracks, or are great story like “Desperado” by the Eagles. Listing thirteen favorites might be the subject of another Thursday Thirteen. Some of the movie songs I’ve listened to while typing today: Da Funk by Daft Punk on The Saint soundtrack and #1 Crush by Mundy on the Romeo & Juliet soundtrack. Writing. I can get lost in writing. I love creating stories and characters. Apparently e
